COOKING FOR ONE ON A BUDGET!

Old Maid U

This section is going to be divided up for those of us who love to cook and those of us who don't. Amelia, for example, loves to cook. Beth, on the other hand, does not. For singles, shopping for food tends to be done on the run. We end up buying things we shouldn't or just something to stop the growling in our stomach. Most deals are "family paks". There are some wonderful solutions.

Seasonings

The key item in cooking and making it enjoyable is good seasoning. While your initial outlay may seem high, the maintenance of adequate seasonings are actually quite manageable. Tina Turner is an inspiration here. One of her key things to making life on the road easier is to carry a chest full of her favorite spices and seasonings. That way she can cook the way she wants wherever she happens to be. Many health food stores or specialty stores sell these items in bulk which will save money.
